Trucking and machines for agriculture come together at Hoovertrack.nl. The Hoovertrack is an Agricultural vehicle on the base of an Iveco Trakker. New is this one, and that is based on a New Holland harvester.

French company Colin had his New Holland machines rebuilt so that they can drag trailers. This way the trailer can be filled on the land, and with a truck transported over the road. Very smart! The trailers have mechanical steered axles and are licenced for road transport. The trailerbrand is Drakkar.

Kögel flat-bed semi-lowloader

At the Bauma Kögel launched a new three axle- flat bed semi-lowloader. The trailer has a movable king-pin that makes it possible to connect with 2- or 3 axled tractors.

Tridec electronic steering for long British trailers

Tridec, a Dutch specialist in mechnical and hydraulic steering systems, launches it’s first hydro-electronical steering system on an experimental trailer, running in the British fleet of Wincanton. The trailer is part of the fieldtest with longer trailers in Britain, like this example in the picture, which measures 15,65 metres.

The “Path Following Steering System” which allows trailers to accurately follow the path of the tractor unit pulling them and reduce potentially hazardous situations such as tail-swing and cut-in, will be unveiled for the first time at the Commercial Vehicle Show in April.

The UK Department for Transport (DfT) is a year into a decade-long trial of longer semi trailers with selected operators deploying the vehicles into their fleets and reporting their findings back to the department.

Hyundai Trailers?

As we all know Hyundai is a Korean manufactorer of cars, vans and trucks. What I did not know is that this company also produces trailers! This Freightliner Argosy was shot in The Netherlands while it was on its way to an American base in Germany with supplies. Behind the truck is a Hyundai trailer! That made me search Goolge to find out that Hyundai Translead has a head office in San Diego USA and produces in Tijuana, Mexico. Here is the link:

Kraker: Cargo Bagging

Iepieleaks is not only about truck- and van news, sometimes there is interesting trailernews. Like this innovative new Kraker Trailer. In The Netherlands we’ve seen them on test for some time now, the Cargo Bagging trailers.

It is a clean and easy unloading and storing system for catle food. This efficient way of unloading, in which at the same time, the cargo is pressed into an evenly pressed roll wrapped in plastic, is called “cargo bagging”. To be able to do this, a so-called “cargo bagging-unit” is required. This unit can be ordered as an extra option for certain types of Kraker moving floor trailers. Not every trailer is suitable for it: since the cargo bagging unit is partially hanging behind the trailer, the maximum total length of the trailer would be exceeded for standard dimensions.… Continue Reading

Xtra long double deck trailers

Dutch trailerbuilder Van Eck built this extra long double deck trailer for the Norwegian and Swedish post. This is one of the two trailers and both of them are going to be towed by one truck. With a dolly in between the two 17 meter long trailers make a roadtrain of 32 meters.

The trailers are 4,5 meters high and that gives two loading decks of 2 metres internal height. Both trailers can transport 76 europallets. The trailers are going to run 340.000 km a year in the north of sweden.

Semi-lowloader with 12 axles from Broshuis

Dutch trailer manufactorer Broshuis has built a record holding 12 axled semi-lowloader. The trailer is good for 146 ton of payload. Broshuis also supplied the MAN 8×6 heavy transport tractor. Click the logo for the Broshuis website!

Nooteboom for 70 meter wings

01-Nooteboom Quatro Tele-PX SMW_Hofmann_low Nooteboom comes with a sollution to transport wings for windmills over the road with lengths up to 70 meters.

The Quatro Tele-PX Super Wing Carrier is completely new designed for this job.

Trailer innovations at IAA

This website is all about truck news but we do have a special site for trailers. The name is www.trailertotaal.nl and sorry, it is only in Dutch for the moment..

At the IAA in Hannover that opens tomorrow there is going to be a lot of trailernews. How about the plastic trailer axle of BPW? Or the new Schmitz Cargobull refregiration unit? Other trailernews is about a Kögel LNG trailer and a Valx traileraxle that generates elektrical power!
