Renault Trucks has sold the last shares to Volvo Trucks.
This week Renault anounced that the last 6,5% of the shares were sold and that means Volvo is now the complete owner of Renault Trucks. The first shares were sold to Volvo in 2001.
What this means for the truck series is not clear. The first scoop photo’s of new Renault Trucks show a different cab than the Volvo cab, so there will still be different designs in the near future. The Volvo driveline is already used by Renault trucks and the smallest Volvo trucks, the FL and FE types are basicly Renault trucks.
